Support Hull Hospital’s WISHH Charity this Christmas
29 November 2024
WISHH, the official charity of Hull Hospitals, invites members of our community, schools and local businesses to get involved in a variety of festive fundraising activities, to support the Charity’s newly launched WISHH Baby Loss Appeal. There are also opportunities to help us to spread the festive cheer to patients across Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital through the WISHH National Elf Service Appeal.
Hull Santa Run
We have teamed up with the Friends of Pickering Park, who are organising the Hull Santa Fun Run and Walk. The event will take place at 11am on the 15th December and is open to all. We are seeking supporters to join us and champion WISHH to raise funds for our newly launched £100,000 WISHH Baby Loss Appeal, to enhance bereavement facilities across Hull Women and Children’s Hospital.

WISHH National Elf Service Appeal
Help us bring the magic of Christmas to the area’s sickest children and older patients spending time in hospital over Christmas through the WISHH National Elf Service Appeal.
Lisa Whitton, WISHH Charity Manager said, “It’s wonderful to see the return of our WISHH National Elf Service Appeal, which helps bring the festive spirit to patients cared for across Hull Hospitals. The funds raised will support buying gifts for children in the Children’s Emergency Department, Eye Hospital, Anlaby Suite, Woodland Ward, Paediatric High Dependency Unit, Acorn Ward, and other specialist areas across our hospitals.
“We would also like to provide gifts for older patients, to include slippers, toiletries, arts and crafts, and reminiscence gifts for dementia patients. These gifts and other items for the wards will help make their hospital stay more comfortable. Some older patients may not receive a gift or have visitors if family live far away, and we want them to have something to open on Christmas day.”
We encourage people of all ages to discover their ‘Inner Elf’ and take part in festive activities to support Hull Hospitals. From festive bake sales and elf-themed days, to festive wear and crafting, there are plenty of ways to get involved and spread the Christmas cheer!”
