Facilities Operative

Tranby are looking to appoint a full time permanent Facilities Operative to work within their facilities team at Tranby. The salary for this role is currently £22,912.50/year but this is subject to a pending pay award. There is also the opportunity for overtime.

Duties as part of the Facilities Team:

• To assist in the efficient day to day maintenance of the school site, equipment, furniture, buildings and grounds.
• To assist with maintenance of fire safety procedures, including maintenance of fire protection equipment, fire drills and alarm tests.
• To assist with site security, both internal and external.
• School bus duty
• To monitor the schools defect reporting system and react accordingly
• To comply with all aspects of health and safety including (but not exclusively) Fire Safety, Legionella, Asbestos, COSHH etc
• Undertake emergency cleaning, basic maintenance and repair to maintain the fabric of the building and site services
• Undertake routine porter duties, i.e. moving furniture & equipment
• To assist with the maintenance of the school’s minibuses to ensure they comply with the necessary safety standards and cleanliness.
• To assist with ensuring the premises are opened prior to the school day and closed after the school day as required / directed by the Facilities Supervisor
• Flexible work pattern – plus occasional weekend cover, depending upon the demands of the school
• Any other relevant duties that may be reasonably requested
