Freedom Festival 2024 - Hull and Bridlington

30 July 2024

Hull is set to come alive with a vibrant celebration of arts and culture as the Freedom Festival 2024 returns from 28 August to 1 September. This year’s big feature "Eternity," is a breathtaking production by the acclaimed Australian theatre company C!rca at Hull Minster. Accompanied by the Australian Chamber Orchestra, these talented circus artists will explore profound themes of love, death, loss, hope, and wonder through dramatic acrobatics.

Following last year's success, Freedom on Tour returns to Bridlington on Friday, 30 August, offering a day of free cultural entertainment in partnership with East Riding Council.

To highlight Hull's cultural heartbeat, Freedom Festival 2024 will showcase diverse outdoor global street performances and ticketed indoor shows, captivating audiences with artistic expression across communities. Performances and installations will be held at locations including Museum Gardens, Princes Dock Street, Queen Victoria Square, Zebedees Yard, and Hull Truck. These venues will come alive with a vibrant tapestry of music, dance, theatre, and visual arts, celebrating the city's rich cultural heritage and diversity.

"All of our outdoor work is free as we aim to make this year's Freedom Festival accessible to as many people as possible," said Jo Hawkes, Interim CEO and General Manager of Freedom Festival Arts Trust.

“The festival is suitable for all the family, with shows like Bob Marley for Babies by La Petita Malumaluga and Pram People by Polyglot Theatre aimed at young children. There's something for everyone to enjoy, regardless of age.”

Freedom Festival 2024 promises a journey through human emotion, cultural diversity, and artistic excellence, transcending boundaries and celebrating the human experience in all its vibrant glory.
