6 September 2024
In celebration of National #ReadABookDay, Diana Taylor, Managing Director of Future Humber, shared her thoughts on a book that has recently captured her imagination and stirred a deeper appreciation for design, mindfulness, and wellbeing.
The book, Design & Meditation by Alessandro Caruso, offers a personal and empathetic journey through resilience, creativity, and Eastern philosophy. It chronicles how Alessandro, a skilled architect, discovered ways to enrich lives through thoughtful design and meditative practices. His story is a tribute to the power of balance and harmony, not just in the physical spaces we inhabit but also in our inner lives.
Reflecting on the book, Diana said:
"To celebrate a decade of ACA - Alessandro Caruso Architects, my friend and colleague, Alessandro Caruso, is launching his new book, Design & Meditation.
"Alex is an accomplished architect with a deep commitment to enhancing health and wellbeing through his designs. Drawing from experiences throughout his life, Design & Meditation is a deeply personal reflection on Alex’s journey. He shares intimately how his creative architectural designs have been shaped by emotion, passion, and a deep understanding of how our surroundings profoundly impact our mental health, wellbeing, and recovery.
"This book is not just a testament to his professional expertise but also a tribute to his unwavering love for his family, which shines through every page. Alex’s dedication to creating life balance through design is a gift to all who seek harmony in their lives and environments. This insight is further enriched by his decision to make Humber his home for both family and business."
Alessandro’s story is a celebration of resilience and creativity, a fitting reflection for National #ReadABookDay.
