Charging Ahead: Suggest a location for EV charging points in North Lincolnshire

9 August 2024

A new look website for electric vehicle (EV) charging in North Lincolnshire has been revealed this week and now, as part of the Charging Ahead project, residents without off street parking are being asked to suggest locations for charge points.

Charging Ahead is part of an ambitious strategy to oversee the rollout and ensure public vehicle charging is fairly priced, reliable and inclusive, ensuring everyone can access a public charging point wherever they live.

The website, www.northlincs.gov.uk/EV-charging , will share the latest information on the project, including the work that has already been done to install charge points, future plans for the next round of funding and answers to frequently asked questions such as what grants are available.

Residents who live in a property without a driveway and already have, or are thinking about buying, an electric vehicle can now suggest a location for a charge point. To do this, residents can search for their location on a map of North Lincolnshire and click to add their suggestion for a charge point. This can be found at: www.northlincs.gov.uk/EV-charging

Cllr David Rose, cabinet member for environment and strategy, said: “This forms part of our A Green Future strategy and the commitment to be net zero by 2030. Switching to electric vehicles has a huge impact on cutting transport emissions and we have seen that electric vehicle purchases in North Lincolnshire are on the rise.

“Residents and businesses expect to be able to charge their vehicles quickly and conveniently, and so charge points are vital if we are encouraging people to make the switch to electric vehicles. The infrastructure needs to be right.

“If you live in a property with on street parking and have an electric vehicle or are planning on buying one, please use the map to suggest charge point locations in your area.”
