Business Centre @ The Deep embraces refreshed brand identity
10 January 2025
Adjacent to Hull’s renowned aquarium, The Deep, is their sister site the Business Centre. Formally known as The Deep Business Centre, their recent brand refresh has helped to strengthen their core business and connection to The Deep. Placing their brand at the forefront, this includes a change in name to Business Centre @ The Deep. This approach spotlights the Business Centre as a unique location to work, boasting a waterfront location and modern facilities throughout. This has helped create a strong sense of place, and rooted the organisation’s identity within the Humber region.
Part of the journey towards the evolution of their brand involved transforming the front reception doors to feature a beautiful window tint art installation. Designed by South African artist, Jessica Eggers, the piece spotlights native species such as kelp, mackerel and anemone. This ties in with the current displays of her work in The Deep’s exhibition space, alongside The Plaice café on the 3rd floor of the aquarium. Local print and signage company, John E Wright, assisted with the smooth installation of the window tints and artwork across the front door panels at the Business Centre reception.
The updated branding also showcases a striking new logo, which reflects the iconic angular design of the neighbouring aquarium building that overlooks the Humber estuary. Incorporating aspects of The Deep’s current logo, the new logo blends familiarity whilst embracing a more stylish design. The new website features a range of vibrant brand colours, using a combination of The Deep’s current palette and various shades of the existing purple brand colour.
Katy Duke, Chief Executive Officer at The Deep, said:
“We are delighted to see how the Business Centre’s brand has evolved and taken shape over the past few months.”
“Whilst the site has now formed its own identity, it has equally helped to cultivate a stronger connection to The Deep and our mission. This understanding helps organisations and clients to recognise that their business helps to support The Deep’s charitable objectives and vital conservation work.”
Freya Cross, Head of Business & Corporate, said:
“It’s been an exciting past few months for the Business Centre team as we geared up for the gradual refresh of our brand identity. Though our name and logo has changed, our values remain the same. The team and I are always available to talk to face-to-face, whether for an informal chat or to create the right environment for your business to thrive.”
“In recent years, we have seen a high number of smaller organisations take occupation. Our location and flexible workspaces are ideal for modern start-up businesses, as well as larger national and international businesses, and we wanted this to be reflected through the change in emphasis in our name and new logo.”
“We are proud to be growing our Business Centre community and look forward to what 2025 brings for us.”
