To mark the occasion, The Deep will host a special event on November 30th, inviting families to listen in to readings of The Whale Who Disappeared, included within their entry ticket price!

Set against the backdrop of the aquarium’s stunning Endless Ocean exhibit, the largest habitat at The Deep, readings will take place at 11:30am and 12:30pm, promising a magical experience as sharks, sawfish, rays and turtles glide behind the storyteller.

During the event, young readers will immerse themselves in the inspiring tale of six-year-old Arry, the young environmentalist at the heart of the story, while surrounded by the beauty of the marine world.

The event will be followed by a special author meet-and-greet, book signings, and the chance to purchase your very own plushie inspired by the story’s characters!

“I’m delighted that The Whale Who Disappeared has found its home at The Deep, where conservation and education beautifully intertwine,” says Emma Oldham. “This story empowers children to view themselves as part of the solution for protecting our oceans. Sharing this message against the backdrop of such incredible marine life will create a truly memorable experience for families.”

Paul Baker, Retail Manager at The Deep, said:

“The Whale Who Disappeared tells a powerful tale about the importance of taking action for our ocean, which aligns perfectly with our charity’s mission. We are thrilled to now be stocking Emma’s inspiring story in our Deep-Artment store, a book which we are sure families will thoroughly enjoy reading.”
