www.orsted.co.ukThe Ørsted vision is a world that runs entirely on green energy. Ørsted develops, constructs, and operates offshore and onshore wind farms, solar farms, energy storage facilities, renewable hydrogen and green fuels facilities, and bioenergy plants. Headquartered in Denmark, Ørsted employs approx. 8,900 people worldwide including over 1,300 in the UK and Ireland.
Ørsted is the global leader in offshore wind and the UK is their biggest market for this form of energy, with 12 wind farms in operation, one in construction and four in development.
Over the last decade they have invested over £15 billion in the development of UK offshore wind farms. We are committed to ensuring that our presence contributes to sustainable growth and development.
In the Humber region, their East Coast Hub (ECH) on Grimsby’s Royal Docks is the UK’s largest offshore wind operations and maintenance base. The ECH is home to over 600 employees operating six offshore wind farms including Hornsea 2 - the largest offshore wind farm in the world by capacity as recognised in the Guinness Book of World Records (2024). By the end of the decade Hornsea 3 (currently in construction) and Hornsea 4 (currently in development) will join the ECH portfolio, taking their total power production capability to 9.2GW or 1 in 4 UK homes.
Ørsted UK is delighted to join the Bondholders Scheme. The decision to join the Bondholders signifies our long term commitment to the Humber region and we look forward to getting involved in activities to promote and encourage further investment in the region.
